Swim Lessons - School Age (Ages 6-12)

During this stage, your child will have increased comfort with under water exploration and be introduced to basic self rescue skills, performed with assistance.

Benchmark skills that will be practiced during Stage 1 School Age Lessons are:

• submerging independently
• front and back floating
• front and back gliding
• water exits independently
• rolling with assistance from front to back

These classes take place, twice a week for 4 weeks, and include eight 30 minute lessons.
Should we have to cancel lessons for any reason, make-ups will be held on Thursdays.

• Treading water independently
• Swim, Float, Swim for 15 yards

This stage will best prepare your child the opportunity to pass the YMCA swim test, which is required to take at the YMCA.
