Swim Team participants learn to work as a team, make friends, and improve their swimming skills. Participants will refine all competitive strokes, perform proper starts and turns, and build endurance.
Belle Chasse Barracudas
Swim team participants will learn to work as a team, make friends, and improve their swimming skills. Participants will refine all competitive strokes, perform proper starts and turns, and build endurance. Additionally children can compete in 4 swim meets throughout the summer.
Ages 6-17 years old
2025 swim meets:

- Saturday, June 28th vs East Jefferson @ East Jefferson
- Saturday, July 12th vs West St. Tammany @ West St. Tammany
- Saturday, July 26th Tentative Championship Swim Meet – location TBA

Belle Chasse Swim Team Tryouts
The Belle Chasse YMCA offers swim team to members and non members 6-17 years old. All swimmers should be able to swim 100 yards freestyle, backstroke, & breaststroke.

East Jefferson Swim Team Prep Class
This program is designed to provide an opportunity for children who are interested in swim team or swim conditioning. Swimmers will work on endurance and refining their strokes. This is a good option for those who have never been on a swim team and for those interested in conditioning for the upcoming season. All swimmers must be a minimum Stage 4 swimmer to enroll in this program. (Swim 1 length of the pool with any stroke at an intermediate level.)

Swim Team Prep Class
This program is designed to provide an opportunity for children who are interested in swim team or swim conditioning. Swimmers will work on endurance and refining their strokes. This is a good option for those who have never been on a swim team and for those interested in conditioning for the upcoming season. All swimmers must be able to pass the swim test and be a minimum Stage 4 swimmer to enroll in this program. (Swim 1 length of the pool with any stroke at an intermediate level.) All swimmers will have the opportunity to try out for the swim team on the last day of class.
*No class on Monday, May 26th, 2025 due to Memorial Day*
Swim team evaluation will be Wednesday, May 28th, 2025
